A buggy prototype of a modern automaton companion for little girls, secretly dedicated to/inspired by Farnsworth and created by Mom, living in Momcorp HQ as a representation of Mom & Farnsworth's angsty teen daughter. Since she's unhappy with her purpose and shaky in her identity in relation to her advertisements, Alice regularly sneaks out and runs into Bender, who's an awful influence on her.
Alice is a sophisticated, sheltered, gloomy pessimist who hangs out at libraries or museums to desperately escape Mom and her brothers, Larry, Walt, and Igner, and find out who she truly is. She feels incompatible with what she's supposed to be: her advertised image as a cutesy, flawless and feminine children's toy, feeling like she doesn't live up to it at all, while still being content with herself and her choices. Her polar opposite appearance helps her blend in and slink past people without being recognized.
Mom keeps Alice under constant surveillance because of her glitches (her distinct identity and rebelliousness), and has her sons babysit and tutor Alice full-time, sending them after her whenever she escapes. Alice is close with her brothers and treasures them despite escaping them constantly and getting them into trouble. Her feelings, however, aren't the same for Mom, who she resents for being corrupt and cruel to her creations and children. Alice's perfectionism and passion for anthropology, philosophy, and history makes her outspoken about Earth's issues, which she thinks Mom is the root cause of. Meanwhile, Mom is phoney and uncharacteristically doting on Alice as if she were her real daughter, because she sees her as a sentimental connection with Farnsworth. Alice is unfortunately unaware of this and the fact that he's so closely tied to her identity, and neither is Farnsworth, but they're similar and oddly get along without even knowing this.
Bender initially spews condescending insults at Alice's advertisements for being childish and girly and stealing attention from him, this is really just to hide his embarassing crush on her. Upon meeting her during a Planet Express mission to transport her to-and-from a Momcorp press conference, he's utterly disappointed by her neuroticism and nerdiness, yet elated that he's superior to her. He uses her shyness to his advantage to unfairly target her as a punching bag. They spend enough time together because of this, that they hesitantly become close friends over time.
Alice finds Bender's cruelty to be performative and pathetic in comparison to Mom, and weirdly finds him comforting to be around despite their clashing personalities, but she's quick to call him out for any serious misbehavior (by Bender standards.) Since she's frequently harassed for her timid and weak appearance and demeanor, it benefits her to be around Bender since he intimidates anyone willing to pick on her with his nasty personality.
Bender's lack of monogamy and frequent casual sex doesn't bother Alice, since she's self sufficient, and she doesn't feel possessive or very romantically or sexually inclined towards him (or anyone.) She feels a strong connection with him and enjoys his company more than anyone, even if she scolds him or they butt heads often. Bender, on the other hand, has some remnants of his initial crush leftover that hit him unexpectedly on rare occasions, and a high sex drive while being in no rush to seriously commit. They're very close friends, and Alice is intimate both sexually and romantically with Bender because of this closeness. From a distance, they look like a couple, but Bender will say he's doing PDA for irony and laughs, and Alice will smile nervously and say "We really do look like a couple, huh?"
Extras
- Alice runs on pollution as opposed to alcohol, alcohol actually gets her drunk, and her preferred drink is a vodka soda or champagne. Bender often pressures her to drink with him.
- Alice has no age, but she's programmed to be like an older sister figure for children. physically, she's been invented extremely recently. Her birthday is the day I created her, December 22. I like to think her invention and advertisement hype would've started around Xmas in-universe too.
- Planet Express members listed in order from people Alice gets along with best to least: (they have the least in common, but there's no bad blood.)
Leela, Hermes, Bender, Nibbler, Zoidberg, Farnsworth, Scruffy, Fry, Amy. - Alice would come into her own and embrace her identity as time goes on. I can see her being a confident Andy Warhol type. She'd frequent punk venues and Hedonismbot parties, but she'd still be a loner making art in the corner, because that's just her style.
- Alice lives a lavish lifestyle with Mom, but it's very low-key because of her unruly appearance. She's usually hidden inside the Momcorp HQ or factories, and makes zero press appearances since she started rejecting her programming, only travelling there to be supervised so she doesn't run off.
